Engage21 Conference

For the past 2 years my school district has been hosting a technology conference for teachers.  We offer it totally free to any teacher in our school district that is interested in attending and we offer sessions on all sorts of topics.  As we are fortunate to have technology facilitators in every school, we have a lot of people willing and able to present but we also highly encourage teachers and outside presenters to come to speak.

Last year we had over 300 in attendance and I'm thrilled to say that after sending out a save the date invitation last week, we have almost 300 already saying they want to attend this year. I don't blame them for signing up because not only is the conference free, but we also give away great prizes from dinners to digital cameras and even Smart Boards!  On top of all of that, we feed everyone snacks throughout the day.  How do we pay for all of this you might be asking?  We don't spend a dime.  All prizes, snacks, etc are donated from local businesses.  It takes us several months of hard work to pull it off but it is an amazing success!

Serving on the planning committee, I've been asked to find outside presenters.  Last year we had presenters from local counties come in and we even did a virtual presentation using second life for a presenter that could not be here in person.  If you are interested in presenting at the newly named Engage21 conference, please visit our website and fill out the call for presenters form.
